Let's Go Down On Ave - 2002-05-09

Personal Details:

Q: How did you get your name?
A: Ave is a word-play on the avian race from another mud I used to play.

Q: How old are you?
A: "You are 14 weeks 1 day 9 hours 6 minutes 10 seconds old".

Q: What level are you?
A: When I wrote this I were lvl 310, for possibly updated changes, follow the link above to my Finger info.

Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: I am a lost soul, my own peers threw me out from our community just because I didn't like living hidden in the shadows all my life and have a career of invisibility and becoming the best brain-sucker like the rest of our mindflayer fellows.

Q: Where do you live?
A: On AoD I spend most of my time in my lonely workroom. RL - in Sweden.

Q: How long have you been logging on to AoD?
A: I first connected in August 1998.

Mudding in general:

Q: How did you first get in contact with Ages of Despair?
A: It all started a late night at the end of summer, I was out walking and suddenly I heard the roar of a dragon! Luckily for me the beautiful lady drow warrior Nemesis appeared and chanted softly for the dragon and it turned around and went back to it's cave.
Seriously? I had been playing another mud for over two years and was about as good as you could get as a (normal) mortal. I was beginning to find it extremely dull doing the same think over and over (And I was one of those that would spend every free second on that mud, I was late to numerous lessons in school just so I could finish just that mob, or that party.). That summer night I set out to find something more fun to do, I had before experimented some with writing areas and some simple coding but it never took off, and found Ages of Despair. I visited and met Nemesis, applied for wizardhood the same night. The next few days I was quite impatient waiting for a reply. Finally! I was accepted and have beed here since. Since that day I have not played more then a few hours at a time maximum.

Q: Are you a normal mudder, or do you seldom log on?
A: I consider myself somewhat normal, if I can I'm on for a few hours per day.

Q: Have you met any fellow mudders in RL?
A: Not anyone from AoD, I have however had rl friends who were at the same mud as me before.

Game Specific:

Q: What was your first kill and if you ever died, what was the first thing that killed you?
A: Since I never played AoD before I got wizzed it was probably one of my test characters, and the same goes for when I wanted to see what happens when you die. I made a really strong character and just stood there taking the blows like a man.

Q: Did you ever get killed by a ("the") horrible creature?
A: No, I never have :)

Q: Who is your favourite and most hated npc respectively?
A: Oh, they usually don't bother me much. Should they some day be a problem I just point my pinger at them and they'll go back to their caves.

Q: What is the most funniest/strangest thing that ever happened to you on AoD?
A: There are so many... I don't even know where to start. The time I got the tattoo on my back was kind of funny: "A tattoo saying "I killed 'Mojo·who·was·god'"".

Q: Do you have any piece of equipment you just can't live without?
A: Not really, I mainly create myself some eq should I care for it. I do have an address book I hate losing.

Q: Do you have a "special place" where you like to hang out, A private corner so to speak?
A: Definitively, my workroom! That's where I spend 99% of my time online.

Q: What is the best thing about Ages of Despair?
A: The awesome wizards! (Remember there were no players when I joined.) And when we opened I was amazed by the dedication and addiction the playerbase showed us. This is like a second home to me.

Q: What is the worst thing about Ages of Despair?
A: There is one answer that surpasses the rest of the tiny issues by far. The addictiveness, I'm better at it by now but AoD used to draw way too much time away from my real life (tm).

Other / Strange:

Q: Have you ever engaged in so called "mudsex"?
A: Nope, and I don't think I would want that either.

Q: Favourite quote?
A: I have several :) Finger me and you will see a new one each time. Here is one though: "Having sex is like playing bridge. If you don't have a good partner, you'd better have a good hand." -- Don't know who wrote that :(

Q: Is there anything else you would like to mention about yourself or your life?
A: Not really, I'll add stuff if I come up with anything.

Q: Name at least one question you think is missing from this interview:
A: I've already added all the ones I could think of, more will come...

Q: Do I have your permission to make this information public on the People of AoD website or any other media?
A: Most definitively!
